What made you want to travel?
“I like to discover new things. Australia is an island that’s physically cut from a big part of the world, so, from my perspective, Europe is so different and dynamic. When I visit I seek history and culture, but I also just love beer.”
Where has been your favourite place in Europe?
“The first place that comes to mind is Porto. It’s a beautiful city and I had the best time there. But I also enjoy Utrecht a lot, it’s a lovely artsy city with many cool spots to just sit, relax, read a book, observe other people. I met amazing people in both of those places, and don’t get me started on the food!”
What is your ideal dorm size?
“Well, I travel alone so ideally I’d rather be by myself, but due to some budget restraints I would say anything under 8 people.”
What has been the best thing you’ve eaten?
“There is this specific 4 euros beef sandwich topped with cheese that I had in Utrecht, served with a liter of beer that I still dream about. I also have to mention Porto’s pastel de nata, chef kiss.”
What is your favourite thing about the Pig?
“I love all the decorations on the walls, especially the pig made out of bottle caps, I looked at it and I knew this was the place.”
How do you like to travel?
“I usually go for transports that are eco-friendly, like trains or buses. But if I have the possibility to walk, I do, even in between towns. I would love to bike more as well.”
What is one piece of advice for people wanting to travel?
“Be respectful, considerate, and spontaneous. Don’t follow those stupid TikTok advice about travelling, just go with the flow at your own rhythm. But of course every experience is unique, these advices don’t apply to all.”
