1. Proudly standing since 1999 š
The hostel was founded in 1999 by a passionate local whose sense of adventure translates into the place’s charm. The partnership has grown from Nelson, New Zealand, to Amsterdam before finally reaching Noordwijk. And it was worth the wait! This location is now a seaside paradise where travellers from all around the world can share a sense of community, freedom and creativity.
2. From Jazz bar to hostel š·
Before being the delightful seaside resort we now know, the Flying Pig, or should I say the “Terracotta“, first welcomed jazz amateurs and hosted late cozy night rythmed by live music. Today, the place has been renovated but we can still feel the vibrance of its previous era, and the hostel still occasionally put together live music events for everyone to attend.

The Flying Pig’s staff members come from all around the world, all year long. This gives place to multiple international cultural exchanges in which you might even find a piece of your culture.

The Flying Pig is named after the English idiom āif pigs could flyā, originally a sarcastic way to refer to something impossible. However the hostel is determined to turn this meaning upside down and prove the opposite. The dreamy atmosphere of the Flying Pig will make you feel like anything is possible, with a touch of bravery and a supporting community.
