The Noordwijk Essentials
Let’s start with the highlights, the things you simply shouldn’t miss.
Spring – A True Floral Explosion
Spring in Noordwijk is a sensory overload. The town sits right in the heart of the Bollenstreek (Bulb Region), and during this season everything bursts into colour.
One of the absolute highlights is the Flower Parade (Blomencorso) on April 18. This iconic parade begins its journey right here in Noordwijk, featuring enormous floats decorated entirely with hyacinths, tulips, and other flowers.
Pro tip: head to the boulevard on the evening of April 17 for “Illuminated Parade” to see the floats glowing against the night sky.
Just a short 15- minute drive away, you will find Keukenhof , often described as the world’s most beautiful spring garden. It is open from March 19 to May 10. There is 32 hectares of pure flower magic for you to explore. Get your tickets here!

In Summer Noordwijk transforms in the “Ibiza of the North”
When the sun comes out, Noordwijk sheds its garden skin and becomes a high-end, laid-back beach paradise. We have The Ibiza Festival where the boulevard transforms into a Mediterranean dream with over 175 stalls of boho fashion, handmade jewellery, and lifestyle treasures. So look out for 14-16 of May, 20-21 of June, and 25-26 of July of 2026.
There is also the amazing Cirque des Dunes that happens on July 18 and August 15, the dunes and boulevard become a stage for world-class street performers and acrobats. It’s a whimsical seaside carnival that you won’t forget.
And of course, there’s Noordwijk’s famous beach club culture. You can spend your afternoons at Witsand for rustic feet in the sand vibe, or Breakers Beach house for touch of elegance.
Exploring “The Neighbourhood”.
One of the best things about Noordwijk is how much there is to explore nearby. All of these gems are all within 30-minute drive.
Langevelderslag

Just north of Noordwijk lies the rugged beach of Langevelderslag. In May, it hosts the Hippe Markt. It’s the Ibiza Festivals cooler, quieter cousin, and perfect for finding unique lifestyle products and enjoying live music surrounded by wild dunes.
Katwijk

Our neighbour to the south, offers a classic Dutch fishing village vibe with a modern twist.
There is Huis van Oranje which happens from 23-27 April and it’s a massive five-day beach festival with live music leading up to King’s Day. National Lifeboat Day on May 9 is another highlight where you can watch the rescue teams in action. Its high speed, salty fun for all ages.
Leiden

Often called the “Little Amsterdam”, Leiden is only 15 minutes inland. Leiden is a historic university city filled with 28 kilometres of canals.
In summertime, Summer Canal Cruises are very popular. You can rent an electric boat, pack a picnic, and cruise under the ancient stone bridges. It’s the ultimate way to cool off when the beach gets too hot.
Castle Day (Dag van het Kasteel)

On May 24 and 25, historic estates in nearby Lisse and Oegstgeest open their secret doors to the public. It’s a great excuse to rent an E-Chopper and go on a “Castle Safari” through the countryside.
So…Which vibe are you chasing this year? Whether it’s the floral magic of April or the bohemian beats of July, Noordwijk has something for everyone and is ready for you. Grab your sunglasses, find a spot on the sand and let the coastal summer begin!
See you soon 🙂
