The temperature is dropping and days are getting shorter, which means Christmas markets in the Netherlands are just around the corner. Exciting, right!? Seasonal lights will appear slowly, music will change to joyful Christmas carols and neither oliebollen nor mulled wine can be avoided! Here we have listed the best Christmas markets in The Netherlands 2025 that you don’t want to miss!

Valkenburg
Christmas City Valkenburg is something you have never seen before. From November 14th to January 4th 2026. The most beautiful Christmas markets in the Netherlands. Prepare yourself for a proper winter fairytale. Endless Christmas-fun above and underground in the historical caves! The caves have an entrance fee of 10€ and the tickets can be bought in advance but this is not necessary. The underground caves are open until the 30th of December.

Maastricht
Maastricht’s magical Christmas market is open from November 29th until December 30th and will take place in the center of Maastricht on the Vrijthof market area. You can find a ferris wheel, ice rink, red roofed Christmas chalets with handcrafts, oliebollen and of course, mulled wine. The market is free to visit but you need to purchase tickets for some of the attractions.
This cozy and atmospheric city, along with its great variety of shops, offers you a great start for your gift hunt for Christmas!


The Hague
The Royal Christmas fair in The Hague will take place 4th-23rd of December on the Lange Voorhout. This year is the 10th edition! The most iconic Christmas market in the Netherlands is decorated with thousands of lights and warming fires to create the cozy atmosphere. You will find choirs, storytellers and of course Santa Claus himself!
Dordrecht
The Christmas market in Dordrecht takes place December 13th-14th. The Downtown Dordrecht will transform into a charming Christmas village. Historic locations such as the City Hall Square and the Grotekerk Garden will be filled with market chalets and food trucks. You will find numerous activities and smaller markets here and there. Do not miss out on the authentic and community-oriented atmosphere, which promotes local entrepreneurs and artisan products.


Utrecht
Utrecht is a magical town to visit during the Christmas season. It has multiple events and markets throughout the season. One of the highlights is the event at the Railway museum from 20th of December until 4th of January. Making a reservation is mandatory and the tickets are starting from 12,50€. It is not the most traditional Christmas market but definitely worth to visit in case you like to visit museums!
Deventer
Deventer Christmas Market transforms into a living ode to the famous stories of Charles Dickens. The Dickens Festival takes place on December 13th-14th. During the weekend, more than 950 Charles Dickens characters from the books will come to life. This year will be the 33rd edition!

The Christmas Market in Haarlem will take place on the weekend of December 12th-14th. You can find everything, from handmade Christmas decorations to culinary specialties from the region. Spiced up with local choirs and musical groups to create the charming winter paradise atmosphere. Nearly 350 stalls around the downtown area. Winter Paradise
Amsterdam Winter Paradise, at RAI Amsterdam, from 17th of December until 3rd of January 2026. Indoor and outdoor ice rinks, seasonal parties and ferris wheel, where you can admire Amsterdam from above.
