What made you want to travel?
”I’d never travelled alone before, so I wanted to challenge myself and try something new. I was also feeling a bit bored of England, and with some free time over the summer and money I’d saved up, it just felt like the right moment to go.”
Where has been your favourite place in Europe?
”So far, the Netherlands has been my favourite place in Europe. I’ve only ever travelled with my family before, so this solo trip has been a completely new experience – and it’s been a lot of fun.”
What has been the best thing you’ve eaten?
”Honestly, mayonnaise! Every time I go to Belgium, mayo is amazing!”
What is your favourite thing about the Pig?
”I really like the sense of community here. You can just walk around, cook your own food, and just chat with people – everyone is really relaxed and easy to talk to.”
How do you like to travel?
”Right now, I travel mostly based on what I can afford, and that’s usually by train. I like being able to choose my route and enjoy the scenic views along the way.”
What is one piece of advice for people wanting to travel?
”I don’t think I’m very qualified to give advice, but I’d say just talk to people. Everyone you meet is friendly, and it can really make your travel experience more enjoyable.”
What is your ideal dorm size?
”I usually go for the cheapest option. I’ve stayed in dorms with 6, 8, and 12 beds, but honestly, it mostly depends on my budget. It doesn’t matter that much because people are generally respectful wherever you stay.”
